    2 Kings 18
    왕하18:1 이스라엘의 왕 엘라의 아들 호세아 제삼년에 유다 왕 아하스의 아들 히스기야가 왕이 되니
    In the third year of Hoshea son of Elah king of Israel, Hezekiah son of Ahaz king of Judah began to reign.
    왕하18:2 그가 왕이 될 때에 나이가 이십 오세라 예루살렘에서 이십구 년간 다스리니라 그의 어머니의 이름은 아비요 스가리야의 딸이더라
    He was twenty-five years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem twenty-nine years. His mother's name was Abijah daughter of Zechariah.
    왕하18:3 히스기야가 그의 조상 다윗의 모든 행위와 같이 여호와께서 보시기에 정직하게 행하여
    He did what was right in the eyes of the LORD, just as his father David had done.
    왕하18:4 그가 여러 산당들을 제거하며 주상을 깨뜨리며 아세라 목상을 찢으며 모세가 만들었던 놋뱀을 이스라엘 자손이 이때까지 향하여 분향하므로 그것을 부수고 느후스단이라 일컬었더라
    He removed the high places, smashed the sacred stones and cut down the Asherah poles. He broke into pieces the bronze snake Moses had made, for up to that time the Israelites had been burning incense to it. (It was called Nehushtan.)
    왕하18:5 히스기야가 이스라엘 하나님 여호와를 의지하였는데 그의 전후 유다 여러 왕 중에 그러한 자가 없었으니
    Hezekiah trusted in the LORD, the God of Israel. There was no one like him among all the kings of Judah, either before him or after him.
    왕하18:6 곧 그가 여호와께 연합하여 그에게서 떠나지 아니하고 여호와께서 모세에게 명령하신 계명을 지켰더라
    He held fast to the LORD and did not cease to follow him; he kept the commands the LORD had given Moses.
    왕하18:7 여호와께서 그와 함께 하시매 그가 어디로 가든지 형통하였더라 저가 앗수르 왕을 배반하고 섬기지 아니하였고
    And the LORD was with him; he was successful in whatever he undertook. He rebelled against the king of Assyria and did not serve him.
    왕하18:8 그가 블레셋 사람들을 쳐서 가사와 그 사방에 이르고 망대에서부터 견고한 성까지 이르렀더라
    From watchtower to fortified city, he defeated the Philistines, as far as Gaza and its territory.
    왕하18:9 히스기야 왕 제사년 곧 이스라엘의 왕 엘라의 아들 호세아 제칠년에 앗수르의 왕 살만에셀이 사마리아로 올라와서 에워쌌더라
    In King Hezekiah's fourth year, which was the seventh year of Hoshea son of Elah king of Israel, Shalmaneser king of Assyria marched against Samaria and laid siege to it.
    왕하18:10 삼 년 후에 그 성읍이 함락되니 곧 히스기야 왕의 제육년이요 이스라엘 왕 호세아의 제구년에 사마리아가 함락되매
    At the end of three years the Assyrians took it. So Samaria was captured in Hezekiah's sixth year, which was the ninth year of Hoshea king of Israel.
    왕하18:11 앗수르 왕이 이스라엘을 사로잡아 앗수르에 이르러 고산 강 가에 있는 할라와 하볼과 메대 사람의 여러 성읍에 두었으니
    The king of Assyria deported Israel to Assyria and settled them in Halah, in Gozan on the Habor River and in towns of the Medes.
    왕하18:12 이는 그들이 하나님 여호와의 말씀을 듣지 아니하고 그의 언약과 여호와의 종 모세가 명령한 모든 것을 따르지 아니하였음이더라
    This happened because they had not obeyed the LORD their God, but had violated his covenant--all that Moses the servant of the LORD commanded. They neither listened to the commands nor carried them out.
    왕하18:13 히스기야 왕 제십사년에 앗수르의 왕 산헤립이 올라와서 유다 모든 견고한 성읍들을 쳐서 점령하매
    In the fourteenth year of King Hezekiah's reign, Sennacherib king of Assyria attacked all the fortified cities of Judah and captured them.
    왕하18:14 유다의 왕 히스기야가 라기스로 사람을 보내어 앗수르 왕에게 이르되 내가 범죄하였나이다 나를 떠나 돌아가소서 왕이 내게 지우시는 것을 내가 당하리이다 하였더니 앗수르 왕이 곧 은 삼백 달란트와 금 삼십 달란트를 정하여 유다 왕 히스기야에게 내게 한지라
    So Hezekiah king of Judah sent this message to the king of Assyria at Lachish: "I have done wrong. Withdraw from me, and I will pay whatever you demand of me." The king of Assyria exacted from Hezekiah king of Judah three hundred talents of silver and thirty talents of gold.
    왕하18:15 히스기야가 이에 여호와의 성전과 왕궁 곳간에 있는 은을 다 주었고
    So Hezekiah gave him all the silver that was found in the temple of the LORD and in the treasuries of the royal palace.
    왕하18:16 또 그 때에 유다 왕 히스기야가 여호와의 성전 문의 금과 자기가 모든 기둥에 입힌 금을 벗겨 모두 앗수르 왕에게 주었더라
    At this time Hezekiah king of Judah stripped off the gold with which he had covered the doors and doorposts of the temple of the LORD, and gave it to the king of Assyria.
    왕하18:17 앗수르 왕이 다르단과 랍사리스와 랍사게로 하여금 대군을 거느리고 라기스에서부터 예루살렘으로 가서 히스기야 왕을 치게 하매 그들이 예루살렘으로 올라가니라 그들이 올라가서 윗못 수도 곁 곧 세탁자의 밭에 있는 큰 길에 이르러 서니라
    The king of Assyria sent his supreme commander, his chief officer and his field commander with a large army, from Lachish to King Hezekiah at Jerusalem. They came up to Jerusalem and stopped at the aqueduct of the Upper Pool, on the road to the Washerman's Field.
    왕하18:18 그들이 왕을 부르매 힐기야의 아들로서 왕궁의 책임자인 엘리야 김과 서기관 셉나와 아삽의 아들 사관 요아가 그에게 나가니
    They called for the king; and Eliakim son of Hilkiah the palace administrator, Shebna the secretary, and Joah son of Asaph the recorder went out to them.
    왕하18:19 랍사게가 그들에게 이르되 너희는 히스기야에게 말하라 대왕 앗수르 왕의 말씀이 네가 의뢰하는 이 의뢰가 무엇이냐
    The field commander said to them, "Tell Hezekiah: "'This is what the great king, the king of Assyria, says: On what are you basing this confidence of yours?
    왕하18:20 네가 싸울 만한 계교와 용력이 있다고 한다마는 이는 입에 붙은 말 뿐이라 네가 이제 누구를 의뢰하고 나를 반역하였느냐
    You say you have strategy and military strength--but you speak only empty words. On whom are you depending, that you rebel against me?
    왕하18:21 이제 네가 너를 위하여 저 상한 갈대 지팡이 애굽을 의뢰하도다 사람이 그것을 의지하면 그의 손에 찔려 들어갈지라 애굽의 왕 바로는 그에게 의뢰하는 모든 자에게 이와 같으니라
    Look now, you are depending on Egypt, that splintered reed of a staff, which pierces a man's hand and wounds him if he leans on it! Such is Pharaoh king of Egypt to all who depend on him.
    왕하18:22 너희가 내게 이르기를 우리는 우리 하나님 여호와를 의뢰하노라 하리라마는 히스기야가 그들의 산당들과 제단을 제거하고 유다와 예루살렘 사람에게 명령하기를 예루살렘 이 제단 앞에서만 예배하라 하지 아니하였느냐 하셨나니
    And if you say to me, "We are depending on the LORD our God"--isn't he the one whose high places and altars Hezekiah removed, saying to Judah and Jerusalem, "You must worship before this altar in Jerusalem"?
    왕하18:23 청하건대 이제 너는 내 주 앗수르 왕과 내기하라 네가 만일 말을 탈 사람을 낼 수 있다면 나는 네게 말 이천 마리를 주리라
    "'Come now, make a bargain with my master, the king of Assyria: I will give you two thousand horses--if you can put riders on them!
    왕하18:24 네가 어찌 내 주의 신하 중 지극히 작은 지휘관 한 사람인들 물리치며 애굽을 의뢰하고 그 병거와 기병을 얻을 듯하냐
    How can you repulse one officer of the least of my master's officials, even though you are depending on Egypt for chariots and horsemen?
    왕하18:25 내가 어찌 여호와의 뜻이 아니고야 이제 이 곳을 멸하러 올라 왔겠느냐 여호와께서 전에 내게 이르시기를 이 땅으로 올라와서 쳐서 멸하라 하셨느니라 하는지라
    Furthermore, have I come to attack and destroy this place without word from the LORD? The LORD himself told me to march against this country and destroy it.'"
    왕하18:26 힐기야의 아들 엘리야김과 셉나와 요아가 랍사게에게 이르되 우리가 알아듣겠사오니 청하건대 아람 말로 당신의 종들에게 말씀하시고 성 위에 있는 백성이 듣는 데서 유다 말로 우리에게 말씀하지 마옵소서
    Then Eliakim son of Hilkiah, and Shebna and Joah said to the field commander, "Please speak to your servants in Aramaic, since we understand it. Don't speak to us in Hebrew in the hearing of the people on the wall."
    왕하18:27 랍사게가 그에게 이르되 내 주께서 네 주와 네게만 이 말을 하라고 나를 보내신 것이냐 성 위에 앉은 사람들도 너희와 함께 자기의 대변을 먹게 하고 자기의 소변을 마시게 하신 것이 아니냐 하고
    But the commander replied, "Was it only to your master and you that my master sent me to say these things, and not to the men sitting on the wall--who, like you, will have to eat their own filth and drink their own urine?"
    왕하18:28 랍사게가 드디어 일어서서 유다 말로 크게 소리 질러 불러 이르되 너희는 대왕 앗수르 왕의 말씀을 들으라
    Then the commander stood and called out in Hebrew: "Hear the word of the great king, the king of Assyria!
    왕하18:29 왕의 말씀이 너희는 히스기야에게 속지 말라 그가 너희를 내 손에서 건져내지 못하리라
    This is what the king says: Do not let Hezekiah deceive you. He cannot deliver you from my hand.
    왕하18:30 또한 히스기야가 너희에게 여호와를 의뢰하라 함을 듣지 말라 그가 이르기를 여호와께서 반드시 우리를 건지실지라 이 성읍이 앗수르 왕의 손에 함락되지 아니하게 하시리라 할지라도
    Do not let Hezekiah persuade you to trust in the LORD when he says, 'The LORD will surely deliver us; this city will not be given into the hand of the king of Assyria.'
    왕하18:31 너희는 히스기야의 말을 듣지 말라 앗수르 왕의 말씀이 너희는 내게 항복하고 내게로 나아오라 그리하고 너희는 각각 그의 포도와 무화과를 먹고 또한 각각 자기의 우물의 물을 마시라
    "Do not listen to Hezekiah. This is what the king of Assyria says: Make peace with me and come out to me. Then every one of you will eat from his own vine and fig tree and drink water from his own cistern,
    왕하18:32 내가 장차 와서 너희를 한 지방으로 옮기리니 그 곳은 너희 본토와 같은 지방 곧 곡식과 포도주가 있는 지방이요 떡과 포도원이 있는 지방이요 기름 나는 감람과 꿀이 있는 지방이라 너희가 살고 죽지 아니하리라 히스기야가 너희를 설득하여 이르기를 여호와께서 우리를 건지시리라 하여도 히스기야에게 듣지 말라
    until I come and take you to a land like your own, a land of grain and new wine, a land of bread and vineyards, a land of olive trees and honey. Choose life and not death! "Do not listen to Hezekiah, for he is misleading you when he says, 'The LORD will deliver us.'
    왕하18:33 민족의 신들 중에 어느 한 신이 그의 땅을 앗수르 왕의 손에서 건진 자가 있느냐
    Has the god of any nation ever delivered his land from the hand of the king of Assyria?
    왕하18:34 하맛과 아르밧의 신들이 어디 있으며 스발와임과 헤나와 아와의 신들이 어디 있느냐 그들이 사마리아를 내 손에서 건졌느냐
    Where are the gods of Hamath and Arpad? Where are the gods of Sepharvaim, Hena and Ivvah? Have they rescued Samaria from my hand?
    왕하18:35 민족의 모든 신들 중에 누가 그의 땅을 내 손에서 건졌기에 여호와가 예루살렘을 내 손에서 건지겠느냐 하셨느니라
    Who of all the gods of these countries has been able to save his land from me? How then can the LORD deliver Jerusalem from my hand?"
    왕하18:36 그러나 백성이 잠잠하고 한 마디도 그에게 대답하지 아니하니 이는 왕이 명령하여 대답하지 말라 하였음이라
    But the people remained silent and said nothing in reply, because the king had commanded, "Do not answer him."
    왕하18:37 이에 힐기야의 아들로서 왕궁 내의 책임자인 엘리야김과 서기관 셉나와 아삽의 아들 사관 요아가 옷을 찢고 히스기야에게 나아가서 랍사게의 말을 전하니라
    Then Eliakim son of Hilkiah the palace administrator, Shebna the secretary and Joah son of Asaph the recorder went to Hezekiah, with their clothes torn, and told him what the field commander had said.

    2 Kings 19
    왕하19:1 히스기야 왕이 듣고 그 옷을 찢고 굵은 베를 두르고 여호와의 전에 들어가서
    When King Hezekiah heard this, he tore his clothes and put on sackcloth and went into the temple of the LORD.
    왕하19:2 왕궁의 책임자인 엘리야김과 서기관 셉나와 제사장 중 장로들에게 굵은 베를 둘려서 아모스의 아들 선지자 이사야에게로 보내매
    He sent Eliakim the palace administrator, Shebna the secretary and the leading priests, all wearing sackcloth, to the prophet Isaiah son of Amoz.
    왕하19:3 그들이 이사야에게 이르되 히스기야의 말씀이 오늘은 환난과 징벌과 모욕의 날이라 아이를 낳을 때가 되었으나 해산할 힘이 없도다
    They told him, "This is what Hezekiah says: This day is a day of distress and rebuke and disgrace, as when children come to the point of birth and there is no strength to deliver them.
    왕하19:4 랍사게가 그의 주 앗수르 왕의 보냄을 받고 와서 살아 계신 하나님을 비방하였으니 당신의 하나님 여호와께서 혹시 그의 말을 들으셨을지라 당신의 하나님 여호와께서 그 들으신 말 때문에 꾸짖으실 듯하니 당신은 이 남아 있는 자들을 위하여 기도하소서 하더이다 하니라
    It may be that the LORD your God will hear all the words of the field commander, whom his master, the king of Assyria, has sent to ridicule the living God, and that he will rebuke him for the words the LORD your God has heard. Therefore pray for the remnant that still survives."
    왕하19:5 이와 같이 히스기야 왕의 신복이 이사야에게 나아가니
    When King Hezekiah's officials came to Isaiah,
    왕하19:6 이사야가 그들에게 이르되 너희는 너희 주에게 이렇게 말하라 여호와의 말씀이 너는 앗수르 왕의 신복에게 들은 바 나를 모욕하는 말 때문에 두려워하지 말라
    Isaiah said to them, "Tell your master, 'This is what the LORD says: Do not be afraid of what you have heard--those words with which the underlings of the king of Assyria have blasphemed me.
    왕하19:7 내가 한 영을 그의 속에 두어 그로 소문을 듣고 그의 본국으로 돌아가게 하고 또 그의 본국에서 그에게 칼에 죽게 하리라 하셨느니라 하더라
    Listen! I am going to put such a spirit in him that when he hears a certain report, he will return to his own country, and there I will have him cut down with the sword.'"
    왕하19:8 랍사게가 돌아가다가 앗수르 왕이 이미 라기스에서 떠났다 함을 듣고 립나로 가서 앗수르 왕을 만났으니 왕이 거기서 립나와 싸우는 중이더라
    When the field commander heard that the king of Assyria had left Lachish, he withdrew and found the king fighting against Libnah.
    왕하19:9 앗수르 왕은 구스 왕 디르하가가 당신과 싸우고자 나왔다 함을 듣고 다시 히스기야에게 사자를 보내며 이르되
    Now Sennacherib received a report that Tirhakah, the Cushite king of Egypt, was marching out to fight against him. So he again sent messengers to Hezekiah with this word:
    왕하19:10 너희는 유다의 왕 히스기야에게 이같이 말하여 이르기를 네가 믿는 네 하나님이 예루살렘을 앗수르 왕의 손에 넘기지 아니하겠다 하는 말에 속지 말라
    "Say to Hezekiah king of Judah: Do not let the god you depend on deceive you when he says, 'Jerusalem will not be handed over to the king of Assyria.'
    왕하19:11 앗수르의 여러 왕이 여러 나라에 행한 바 진멸한 일을 네가 들었나니 네가 어찌 구원을 얻겠느냐
    Surely you have heard what the kings of Assyria have done to all the countries, destroying them completely. And will you be delivered?
    왕하19:12 내 조상들이 멸하신 여러 민족 곧 고산과 하란과 레셉과 들라살에 있는 에덴 족속을 그 나라들의 신들이 건졌느냐
    Did the gods of the nations that were destroyed by my forefathers deliver them: the gods of Gozan, Haran, Rezeph and the people of Eden who were in Tel Assar?
    왕하19:13 하맛 왕과 아르밧 왕과 스발와임 성의 왕과 헤나와 아와의 왕들이 다 어디 있느냐 하라 하니라
    Where is the king of Hamath, the king of Arpad, the king of the city of Sepharvaim, or of Hena or Ivvah?"
    왕하19:14 히스기야가 사자의 손에서 편지를 받아보고 여호와의 성전에 올라가서 히스기야가 그 편지를 여호와 앞에 펴 놓고
    Hezekiah received the letter from the messengers and read it. Then he went up to the temple of the LORD and spread it out before the LORD.
    왕하19:15 그 앞에서 히스기야가 기도하여 이르되 그룹들 위에 계신 이스라엘의 하나님 여호와여 주는 천하 만국에 홀로 하나님이시라 주께서 천지를 만드셨나이다
    And Hezekiah prayed to the LORD: "O LORD, God of Israel, enthroned between the cherubim, you alone are God over all the kingdoms of the earth. You have made heaven and earth.
    왕하19:16 여호와여 귀를 기울여 들으소서 여호와여 눈을 떠서 보시옵소서 산헤립이 살아 계신 하나님을 비방하러 보낸 말을 들으시옵소서
    Give ear, O LORD, and hear; open your eyes, O LORD, and see; listen to the words Sennacherib has sent to insult the living God.
    왕하19:17 여호와여 앗수르 여러 왕이 과연 여러 민족과 그들의 땅을 황폐하게 하고
    "It is true, O LORD, that the Assyrian kings have laid waste these nations and their lands.
    왕하19:18 또 그들의 신들을 불에 던졌사오니 이는 그들이 신이 아니요 사람의 손으로 만든 것 곧 나무와 돌 뿐이므로 멸하였나이다
    They have thrown their gods into the fire and destroyed them, for they were not gods but only wood and stone, fashioned by men's hands.
    왕하19:19 우리 하나님 여호와여 원하건대 이제 우리를 그의 손에서 구원하옵소서 그리하시면 천하 만국이 주 여호와가 홀로 하나님이신 줄 알리이다 하니라
    Now, O LORD our God, deliver us from his hand, so that all kingdoms on earth may know that you alone, O LORD, are God."
    왕하19:20 아모스의 아들 이사야가 히스기야에게 보내 이르되 이스라엘 하나님 여호와의 말씀이 네가 앗수르 왕 산헤립 때문에 내게 기도하는 것을 내가 들었노라 하셨나이다
    Then Isaiah son of Amoz sent a message to Hezekiah: "This is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says: I have heard your prayer concerning Sennacherib king of Assyria.
    왕하19:21 여호와께서 앗수르 왕에게 대하여 이같이 말씀하시기를 처녀 딸 시온이 너를 멸시하며 너를 비웃었으며 딸 예루살렘이 너를 향하여 머리를 흔들었느니라
    This is the word that the LORD has spoken against him: "'The Virgin Daughter of Zion despises you and mocks you. The Daughter of Jerusalem tosses her head as you flee.
    왕하19:22 네가 누구를 꾸짖었으며 비방하였느냐 누구를 향하여 소리를 높였으며 눈을 높이 떴느냐 이스라엘의 거룩한 자에게 그리하였도다
    Who is it you have insulted and blasphemed? Against whom have you raised your voice and lifted your eyes in pride? Against the Holy One of Israel!
    왕하19:23 네가 사자들을 통하여 주를 비방하여 이르기를 내가 많은 병거를 거느리고 여러 산꼭대기에 올라가며 레바논 깊은 곳에 이르러 높은 백향목과 아름다운 잣나무를 베고 내가 그 가장 먼 곳에 들어가며 그의 동산의 무성한 수풀에 이르리라
    By your messengers you have heaped insults on the Lord. And you have said, "With my many chariots I have ascended the heights of the mountains, the utmost heights of Lebanon. I have cut down its tallest cedars, the choicest of its pines. I have reached its remotest parts, the finest of its forests.
    왕하19:24 내가 땅을 파서 이방의 물을 마셨고 나의 발바닥으로 애굽의 모든 강들을 말렸노라 하였도다
    I have dug wells in foreign lands and drunk the water there. With the soles of my feet I have dried up all the streams of Egypt."
    왕하19:25 네가 듣지 못하였느냐 이 일은 내가 태초부터 행하였고 옛날부터 정한 바라 이제 내가 이루어 너로 견고한 성들을 멸하여 무너진 돌무더기가 되게 함이니라
    "'Have you not heard? Long ago I ordained it. In days of old I planned it; now I have brought it to pass, that you have turned fortified cities into piles of stone.
    왕하19:26 그러므로 거기에 거주하는 백성의 힘이 약하여 두려워하며 놀랐나니 그들은 들의 채소와 푸른 풀과 지붕의 잡초와 자라기 전에 시든 곡초같이 되었느니라
    Their people, drained of power, are dismayed and put to shame. They are like plants in the field, like tender green shoots, like grass sprouting on the roof, scorched before it grows up.
    왕하19:27 네 거처와 네 출입과 네가 내게 향한 분노를 내가 다 아노니
    "'But I know where you stay and when you come and go and how you rage against me.
    왕하19:28 네가 내게 향한 분노와 네 교만한 말이 내 귀에 들렸도다 그러므로 내가 갈고리를 네 코에 꿰고 재갈을 네 입에 물려 너를 오던 길로 끌어 돌이키리라 하셨나이다
    Because you rage against me and your insolence has reached my ears, I will put my hook in your nose and my bit in your mouth, and I will make you return by the way you came.'
    왕하19:29 또 네게 보일 징조가 이러하니 너희가 금년에는 스스로 자라난 것을 먹고 내년에는 그것에서 난 것을 먹되 제삼년에는 심고 거두며 포도원을 심고 그 열매를 먹으리라
    "This will be the sign for you, O Hezekiah: "This year you will eat what grows by itself, and the second year what springs from that. But in the third year sow and reap, plant vineyards and eat their fruit.
    왕하19:30 유다 족속 중에서 피하고 남은 자는 다시 아래로 뿌리를 내리고 위로 열매를 맺을지라
    Once more a remnant of the house of Judah will take root below and bear fruit above.
    왕하19:31 남은 자는 예루살렘에서부터 나올 것이요 피하는 자는 시온 산에서부터 나오리니 여호와의 열심이 이 일을 이루리라 하셨나이다 하니라
    For out of Jerusalem will come a remnant, and out of Mount Zion a band of survivors. The zeal of the LORD Almighty will accomplish this.
    왕하19:32 그러므로 여호와께서 앗수르 왕을 가리켜 이르시기를 그가 이 성에 이르지 못하며 이리로 화살을 쏘지 못하며 방패를 성을 향하여 세우지 못하며 치려고 토성을 쌓지도 못하고
    "Therefore this is what the LORD says concerning the king of Assyria: "He will not enter this city or shoot an arrow here. He will not come before it with shield or build a siege ramp against it.
    왕하19:33 오던 길로 돌아가고 이 성에 이르지 못하리라 하셨으니 이는 여호와의 말씀이시라
    By the way that he came he will return; he will not enter this city, declares the LORD.
    왕하19:34 내가 나와 나의 종 다윗을 위하여 이 성을 보호하여 구원하리라 하셨나이다 하였더라
    I will defend this city and save it, for my sake and for the sake of David my servant."
    왕하19:35 이 밤에 여호와의 사자가 나와서 앗수르 진영에서 군사 십팔만 오천 명을 친지라 아침에 일찍이 일어나 보니 다 송장이 되었더라
    That night the angel of the LORD went out and put to death a hundred and eighty-five thousand men in the Assyrian camp. When the people got up the next morning--there were all the dead bodies!
    왕하19:36 앗수르 왕 산헤립이 떠나 돌아가서 니느웨에 거주하더니
    So Sennacherib king of Assyria broke camp and withdrew. He returned to Nineveh and stayed there.
    왕하19:37 그가 그의 신 니스록의 신전에서 경배할 때에 아드람멜렉과 사레셀이 그를 칼로 쳐죽이고 아라랏땅으로 그들이 도망하매 그 아들 에살핫돈이 대신하여 왕이 되니라
    One day, while he was worshiping in the temple of his god Nisroch, his sons Adrammelech and Sharezer cut him down with the sword, and they escaped to the land of Ararat. And Esarhaddon his son succeeded him as king.

    왕하20:1 그 때에 히스기야가 병들어 죽게 되매 아모스의 아들 선지자 이사야가 그에게 나아와서 그에게 이르되 여호와의 말씀이 너는 집을 정리하라 네가 죽고 살지 못하리라 하셨나이다
    In those days Hezekiah became ill and was at the point of death. The prophet Isaiah son of Amoz went to him and said, "This is what the LORD says: Put your house in order, because you are going to die; you will not recover."
    왕하20:2 히스기야가 낯을 벽으로 향하고 여호와께 기도하여 이르되
    Hezekiah turned his face to the wall and prayed to the LORD,
    왕하20:3 여호와여 구하오니 내가 진실과 전심으로 주 앞에 행하며 주께서 보시기에 선하게 행한 것을 기억하옵소서 하고 히스기야가 심히 통곡하더라
    "Remember, O LORD, how I have walked before you faithfully and with wholehearted devotion and have done what is good in your eyes." And Hezekiah wept bitterly.
    왕하20:4 이사야가 성읍 가운데까지도 이르기 전에 여호와의 말씀이 그에게 임하여 이르시되
    Before Isaiah had left the middle court, the word of the LORD came to him:
    왕하20:5 너는 돌아가서 내 백성의 주권자 히스기야에게 이르기를 왕의 조상 다윗의 하나님 여호와의 말씀이 내가 네 기도를 들었고 네 눈물을 보았노라 내가 너를 낫게 하리니 네가 삼일 만에 여호와의 성전에 올라가겠고
    "Go back and tell Hezekiah, the leader of my people, 'This is what the LORD, the God of your father David, says: I have heard your prayer and seen your tears; I will heal you. On the third day from now you will go up to the temple of the LORD.
    왕하20:6 내가 네 날에 십오 년을 더할 것이며 내가 너와 이 성을 앗수르 왕의 손에서 구원하고 내가 나를 위하고 또 내 종 다윗을 위하므로 이 성을 보호하리라 하였다 하라 하셨더라
    I will add fifteen years to your life. And I will deliver you and this city from the hand of the king of Assyria. I will defend this city for my sake and for the sake of my servant David.'"
    왕하20:7 이사야가 이르되 무화과 반죽을 가져오라 하매 무리가 가져다가 그 상처에 놓으니 나으니라
    Then Isaiah said, "Prepare a poultice of figs." They did so and applied it to the boil, and he recovered.
    왕하20:8 히스기야가 이사야에게 이르되 여호와께서 나를 낫게 하시고 삼일 만에 여호와의 성전에 올라가게 하실 무슨 징표가 있나이까 하니
    Hezekiah had asked Isaiah, "What will be the sign that the LORD will heal me and that I will go up to the temple of the LORD on the third day from now?"
    왕하20:9 이사야가 이르되 여호와께서 하신 말씀을 응하게 하실 일에 대하여 여호와께로부터 왕에게 한 징표가 임하리이다 해 그림자가 십도를 나아갈 것이니이까 혹 십도를 물러갈 것이니이까 하니
    Isaiah answered, "This is the LORD'S sign to you that the LORD will do what he has promised: Shall the shadow go forward ten steps, or shall it go back ten steps?"
    왕하20:10 히스기야가 대답하되 그림자가 십도를 나아가기는 쉬우니 그리 할 것이 아니라 십도가 뒤로 물러갈 것이니이다 하니라
    "It is a simple matter for the shadow to go forward ten steps," said Hezekiah. "Rather, have it go back ten steps."
    왕하20:11 선지자 이사야가 여호와께 간구하매 아하스의 해시계 위에 나아갔던 해 그림자를 십도 뒤로 물러가게 하셨더라
    Then the prophet Isaiah called upon the LORD, and the LORD made the shadow go back the ten steps it had gone down on the stairway of Ahaz.
    왕하20:12 그 때에 발라단의 아들 바벨론의 왕 브로닥발라단이 히스기야가 병들었다 함을 듣고 편지와 예물을 그에게 보낸지라
    At that time Merodach-Baladan son of Baladan king of Babylon sent Hezekiah letters and a gift, because he had heard of Hezekiah's illness.
    왕하20:13 히스기야가 사자들의 말을 듣고 자기 보물고의 금은과 향품과 보배로운 기름과 그의 군기고와 창고의 모든 것을 다 사자들에게 보였는데 왕궁과 그의 나라 안에 있는 모든 것 중에서 히스기야가 그에게 보이지 아니한 것이 없더라
    Hezekiah received the messengers and showed them all that was in his storehouses--the silver, the gold, the spices and the fine oil--his armory and everything found among his treasures. There was nothing in his palace or in all his kingdom that Hezekiah did not show them.
    왕하20:14 선지자 이사야가 히스기야 왕에게 나아와 그에게 이르되 이 사람들이 무슨 말을 하였으며 어디서부터 왕에게 왔나이까 히스기야가 이르되 먼 지방 바벨론에서 왔나이다 하니
    Then Isaiah the prophet went to King Hezekiah and asked, "What did those men say, and where did they come from?" "From a distant land," Hezekiah replied. "They came from Babylon."
    왕하20:15 이사야가 이르되 그들이 왕궁에서 무엇을 보았나이까 하니 히스기야가 대답하되 내 궁에 있는 것을 그들이 다 보았나니 나의 창고에서 하나도 보이지 아니한 것이 없나이다 하더라
    The prophet asked, "What did they see in your palace?" "They saw everything in my palace," Hezekiah said. "There is nothing among my treasures that I did not show them."
    왕하20:16 이사야가 히스기야에게 이르되 여호와의 말씀을 들으소서
    Then Isaiah said to Hezekiah, "Hear the word of the LORD:
    왕하20:17 여호와의 말씀이 날이 이르리니 왕궁의 모든 것과 왕의 조상들이 오늘까지 쌓아 두었던 것이 바벨론으로 옮긴 바 되고 하나도 남지 아니할 것이요
    The time will surely come when everything in your palace, and all that your fathers have stored up until this day, will be carried off to Babylon. Nothing will be left, says the LORD.
    왕하20:18 또 왕의 몸에서 날 아들 중에서 사로잡혀 바벨론 왕궁의 환관이 되리라 하셨나이다 하니
    And some of your descendants, your own flesh and blood, that will be born to you, will be taken away, and they will become eunuchs in the palace of the king of Babylon."
    왕하20:19 히스기야가 이사야에게 이르되 당신이 전한 바 여호와의 말씀이 선하니이다 하고 또 이르되 만일 내가 사는 날에 태평과 진실이 있을진대 어찌 선하지 아니하리요 하니라
    "The word of the LORD you have spoken is good," Hezekiah replied. For he thought, "Will there not be peace and security in my lifetime?"
    왕하20:20 히스기야의 남은 사적과 그의 모든 업적과 저수지와 수도를 만들어 물을 성안으로 끌어들인 일은 유다 왕 역대지략에 기록되지 아니하였느냐
    As for the other events of Hezekiah's reign, all his achievements and how he made the pool and the tunnel by which he brought water into the city, are they not written in the book of the annals of the kings of Judah?
    왕하20:21 히스기야가 그의 조상들과 함께 자고 그의 아들 므낫세가 대신하여 왕이 되니라
    Hezekiah rested with his fathers. And Manasseh his son succeeded him as king. 2KI
